Thanksgiving

My side of the family took off a little bit before Thanksgiving but Jonny's parents stayed.  Yay!  Last year Jonny's parents and Jonny and I went to Branson.  This year we wanted to but things would be a little more difficult with a baby so we decided to just stay here.  Thursday we cooked dinner and then cleaned up to go shopping.  Naomi LOVED "Black Thursday?" shopping as does her mom.  She was strapped onto me in a baby bjorn and people watched the whole time.  She zonked once we hit the car.  I wish I would have taken a picture but I didn't even think of it until after we had already left.

Friday morning, I would have loved to get up early and go shopping but a couple reasons: 1.) didn't really do my research, 2.) there are no stores in Russellville, and 3.) sleep is too precious these days.  Instead, Jonny and Jon got up and went golfing and Lynnette and I slept in and then went to Hobby Lobby and got material to make some headbands.  I wish I was better and more motivated to sew because while Lynnette was here, she made a blessing dress plus two other church dresses and 5 headbands, 3 for me and 2 for my cousins baby, Ivy.  I wish I was better. :/  one day maybe...

Here are a few pictures from Thanksgiving...

Naomi's first Thanksgiving!

Family time

Just wanted to post a few pictures from when our family was here.

We took a trip up to Mt. Nebo, which in Utahians eyes, is more like Hill Nebo but still.  It was very pretty and there were a lot of fall colors which were so pretty.

Missing is Chelsea, Naomi and my mom because the two little ones were asleep in the car so my mom stayed with them.  Ps look how absolutely gorgeous my little niece Lexi is!

Blessing time

I love baby blessings and it is ten times better when it is your own.  Jonny did a wonderful job blessing Naomi.  I am blessed to have such a wonderful and spiritual husband to be able to do the blessing and be prompted to say the things he said.  How did I ever get so lucky?

Family arrived on Nov 9 starting with Jonny's mom, Lynnette.  After her came my mom on the 11th, my dad, sister Jessica and her two kids on the 12th and then Jon on the 14th.  We had a house full and there was definitely never a dull moment.  7 adults and 3 kids staying in a 1200-1300 sq ft house is crazy.  Thanks to everyone that came and made memories with us.  It means a lot to us and I know to Naomi too!

Our good friends to Pilkingtons also came Sunday morning to the blessing.  It was so special to have them there since they are like a second family to us.  Here are some pictures from the day of her blessing.

Naomi's first Halloween

Yep.  I'm WAY behind.  But I don't want to not post about these things.  So here it goes...

This was Naomi's first Halloween.  No we didn't go Trick or Treating because that would be silly.  Everyone would know that Naomi can't eat the candy and that I would just be eating it myself.  So we just got dressed up inside and took some pictures.  And then Naomi slept.  It was a pretty awesome Halloween.  Don't get me wrong...I am so excited for the years to come because Halloween is one of my favoritest holidays. :)

Here was Naomi's "day" outfit and her Halloween outfit.  She was our little pumpkin :)

"What is this thing"

5 on friday

Taking this from my cousin (surprise surprise) :)

The five little things that I am most thankful since becoming a mom...

1. The morning baby smiles that make the sleep deprived me instantly happier.

2. The boppy that has saved my arms while nursing!

3. The fact that my arm muscles get a work out pretty much all day everyday, between carrying her, carrying her car seat or lugging around the 15 lbs of diaper bag.

4. The pacifier. I don't think this needs an explanation. Haha

5. Sleep. When I get sleep, I am a much happier person with a tons more patience. Sleep is precious these days.

newborn and 1 month pictures

Not a lot going on here besides trying to keep up with how fast Naomi is growing.  She is 7 weeks old today!  And yes...I am just getting around to putting her newborn (thanks Ems!!!) and 1 month pictures up.  But hey, at least I'm doing it right?

Things are starting to get easier.  She has more of a routine.  She also has more awake time which makes playing with her so much more fun.  I go back to work in one week from today and I will miss her but I also think it is best for her and me.  I know that a little time away will help me with my patience and it will also help her to be able to interact and trust other adults.  I am so blessed that I have friends that I trust and that are willing to help!  And of course a job that is so amazing!  I have said time and time again how blessed I am to have this job.

Naomi now smiles when she is awake and is the happiest right after waking up from a nap or in the mornings.  She sleeps 4-6 stretches at night which is nice.  I am looking forward to when she starts sleeping through the whole night.  She eats about every 2 hours (maybe that's how she is growing so fast!) She loves to "talk".  She holds her head up pretty well and actually LOVES tummy time which is wonderful.  My friend who is also her doctor says all the time how advanced she is which is nice to hear as a mom even though I had nothing to do with that.  She also knows what she wants.  If Jonny and I are holding her and she is crying and nothing seems to work, the second we put her down she is happy as can be and will lay there for at least 15 minutes just wiggling away.  She has very good control of her eyes and does a great job tracking whatever is moving around her.  She loves to watch the ceiling fan go around and around.  Although she has her fussy times, she is a joy to be around and she melts my heart completely.

Now for some pictures!  Enjoy.

We decided that we would take her monthly pictures in a ball cart...

And a few others just for fun! :)
